I have recently got my hands on T-Racks, so far i have just been using the free yohng W1 limiter on the master channel. I have had a play around with T-Racks and some of the presets, i was wondering whether anybody here using T-Racks on their master channel and whether you use any particular settings etc: I know it would differ from track to track but any reccomendations would be great,

Even loading up some of the presets makes some difference, but like most other software if not used correctly it would no doubt do more harm then good :)

Cheers AP Crew

Between writing in Reason, Cubase, Logic, and Ableton Live, it's just been ridiculous. But I believe this version will be the one to make it out to the light of day and be released.

Check it out: http://www.noahneiman.com/magic_feeling.html

The site has album artwork and the track will autoplay, so make sure you're allowed to listen to music wherever you're at ;)

This is still a crude mixdown. The vocals need a lot of work on my part and I've got some of the FX muted. It's not mastered or EQ'd or anything either.

I've never considered myself famous, despite what anyone else say and probably never will even if i would by some miracle become Tiesto/Armin nr 2, which i really hope not.

I think we all know the what effects "fame" can have on a person, and how it makes your ego grow and whatnot. I've never really experienced it myself from any friends since i usually don't socialize with people on MSN and whatnot. However, the effect you get the other way around, how people treat you is quite funny.

When you are famous and have new stuff out people just generally kiss your ass at every corner, but as soon as you don't keep up you are a nobody. It doesn't bother me because it's just logic but can it have something to do with the rush that every producer in the scene are in?

Do people release new stuff all the time, which is shit, just to keep up and be famous/recognizable? I definitely think it might have something to do with it, that and the cash involved.

Side note: I don't know about you, but i really enjoy to talk to those "fans" that stick with you no matter what, i don't have many of those, in fact just one, but that guy really makes my day everytime he says hello. Those are the people that makes this whole thing worthwhile, not the money or the general fame. On second though, those that just still talk to me whenever im on MSN deserves a spot in the hall of fame for still doing it, after 4 years of inactivity.

Please do share your "fame"-adventures, should be a good read.

Hey Guys,

Until recently I've used mainly vengeance fx and a few others I have for uplifters and downlifters but have just decided to make my sound more personal and do my own.

Been using z3ta for about half an hour and with the matrix it's great routing eg's and lfos to make these type of effects, was wondering what other people are using for their uplifeters downlifters etc.... sample cd's or vst's, if so any tips on good vsts to use????

Not realy got too deep yet but seems realy good fun playing around! Although I have noticed a lot of more prog house producers are mainly using white noise with very little done to it, i.e pryda, deadmau5 etc. It seems to fit in well in their productions but with all the possibilities for modulations seems a bit boring to me.

Got to go to work now but gonna put some of my efforts up in a week or so using z3ta :)

Hey all, this week I've been working on the mixdown of a video game remix for a community project and was wanting to know how you guys think it's coming. A few things are missing, such as the vocals and the drums during the guitar solo, but I'll deal with those later. (I'm just trying to get my mix "in the ballpark" of how it should sound.) Also, the syncopated bass wandered off the beat when I rendered. I'm sure many of you have had that problem with Atmosphere.

Anyway, my main concern is the deep sine wave bass in the section with the guitar solo. Many consumer speakers won't be able to pick much of it up so do I need to compensate for them or is that just their problem? I didn't want to layer another bass since I love the simple sound of the sine.

The pad of the ever so great dumonde remix of rank 1's symsonic has had me puzzled for like a decade. If you listen to the clip from about 00:12 you hear a high octave flutey kinda sound which seem to fall in pitch at the end of some notes. It's like it falls half way to the next note but not exactly and ends up in some middle stage which I cant find. I've tried everything from portamento to pitch glide to automation of the pitch envelope but I cant seem to get it as natural sounding as the real thing.

My guess is that it might be a real pitch bend from a keyboard, which I have yet to test since I don't own one that has a pitch bend wheel. A buddy of mine, who is into classical music, said that it could have been a special flute (which fell in pitch after you stop feeding it with air) that he couldnt remember the name of but I'm not sure.

Can anyone identify how this effect was created perhaps?

All the best,
